WOW!! What a show! We came as an early celebration for my brother's 40th birthday (which isn't until October) for which he told me this was the best concert he'd ever been to and I have to agree. We flew over from Leeds, England, the same day.
It was so very, very hot up in the arena, but as we got stuck into the music we forgot all about it!! The boys really rocked the arena; everyone was bouncing up and down ALL through the night. The atmosphere was so good you could almost hold it.
We looked down from high up in the 407 section by the stage side, the view was breathtaking.
Watching the crowd erupt with every song, awesome, I'll never forget it. The early songs were great, a real blast from the past, it reminded me of good times gone by... Manchester Apollo 1984; my God, twenty-one years ago!!!
I was so moved that the terrible bombings in London were mentioned and was brought to tears on seeing how the whole stadium showed their solidarity in opposing the atrocities.
The whole experience, from travelling there, seeing the concert and afterwards, really made me realise just how much U2 really do bring people together. We talked with complete strangers on the plane, about them on the Metro on the way to the arena, during and after the concert, sang together in the streets, and again in the cafes and bars the next day.
To polish the experience off, we even got to sit next to Larry in an Irish bar the next day.... Happy Birthday Bro'! You'll not forget your 40th in a hurry will you!!! Thank you U2.
