U2 Tours (formerly part of AtU2): A Comprehensive Guide To U2’s Live Performance History

Sunday, June 1st, was the BEST day of my life! The Longpigs were an amazing band, even though they only played a half hour. The Fun Lovin' Criminals were pretty cool, but everyone was too psyched that U2 would soon be on. Finally, around 9:50, we heard 'PopMuzik' start. Immediately, the crowd stood up and jumped up and down. Finally, the band came out, and performed FLAWLESSLY! (This of course doesn't count the fact that the monitor was still kind of messed up, and the right part of it went blue for awhile).

The crowd loved 'Sweet Caroline', and Edge let just the crowd sing for a little while. Other great performances: Staring at the Sun acoustic, Streets, Pride, Stand by Me, Bullet the Blue Sky/Miami/Outside it's America and several others (like I said, it was a perfect set, at least to me it was).

Other great points were when Bono invited a girl onstage and danced with her during Miami (and then she chased him to the main stage). Then, later on, two fans ran on stage. The first one ran right off when she saw that there were guards coming, but the second one ran across to the front, where she was tackled by guards. They were treating her really roughly, and as soon as Bono noticed this, he ran over to her from the b-stage, and made the guards let her go. Then, he hugged and kissed her. It was an AMAZING thing to see onstage, after reading about instances like that.

All in all: U2 showed me that night the reason I was put on this earth.
