My friend Erica and I had been sending one another daily emails leading up to the U2 show at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo. 100 days until U2, 99 days until U2, read our subject lines slowly, but surely counting down the days to our 3rd U2 show. We saw them in Syracuse in 1987 (we were 17 back then) and in Saratoga in 1992, so we were eager to take our U2 journey into our third decade. We had bought tickets for both the Buffalo and Albany shows. We were not disappointed. U2 had their 'A' game Thursday night and I have to believe that the Buffalo show had to be one of the best on their tour thus far. From the beginning of the show the energy in the audience seemed to feed off the band, surging with every sound the band created. I have never been to a concert where my hands hurt so much from clapping and my voice strained so much from singing out loud. It was truly an amazing experience. I have been to dozens of concerts and can say, without a doubt, that this was the best show I have ever seen. I was apprehensive about paying $85, but having our seats just off the Harbor Club level at HSBC with a full service bar/restaurant was an enormous treat. It was like watching U2 from the living room. 10 times better than Albany the following night.
