Finally got to see U2 after 8 years since Popmart. Flew up from Sydney for the Brisbane gig. What better place to see the gig just up the road from the gold coast. Didn't bother hassling the band at their hotel, like some over obsessed fans, I mean come on give them a break, they're here to play a gig not to do dinner with you, get a life and enjoy the gold coast sun and surf like the band was trying to do.The band did very well for their first show in 7 months, I thought Larry got man of the match. His drumming was tight and disciplined, he really held the band together and probably he and Adam provided the solid foundation for Edge and Bono to adjust to the show. The set was a great list of songs, but lets face it when it ended at around track 22 I'm thinking I wish they'd had of played 40 tracks. They are just great songs. Highlight I thought came from the new saint's single, that rocked. Looking forward to Sydney. Am in GA for that one which will be a great vibe, only downside to Brisbane was being stuck in the stands with a bunch of rich old farts who sat down the entire show and tapped their feet.
