Aside from the Bonnaroo festival, where U2 had a pre-scheduled 11 pm start time, tonight's 9:45 PM start marks the latest that U2 has taken the stage so for this tour.
Before "Bad," Bono tells the audience that he went for a walk in Barcelona today and visited a David Bowie exhibit. He said that Bowie called U2 friends, but U2 were fans of Bowie. Before "One," Bono praises Nelson Mandela and mentions that today would've been his 99th birthday.
While introducing "The Little Things That Give You Away," Bono tells the audience that, according to The Edge, Songs Of Experience will be released before the end of the year.
U2's former manager, Paul McGuinness, is at the show.
