Bono mentions New Orleans several times during the show, most notably name checking New Orleans’ own Dr. John during “Still Haven’t Found.”
“Love Will Tear Us Apart” makes its first appearance this tour during “With Or Without You.”
Before “One Tree Hill,” Bono sends get-well wishes to Louisiana congressman Steve Scalise, who is still recovering from a June shooting incident.
The encore features some surprises. Bono sings a bit of Dierks Bentley’s “Drunk On A Plane” during “Beautiful Day" -- the two have been friends for many years, and Bono even introduced Bentley at the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards.
“Vertigo” ends with a rousing snippet of “The Saints Are Coming,” which continues long after the song ends.
"You’re The Best Thing About Me” keeps getting shuffled around during the encore. Tonight, it's supposed to end the show but the band continues with a thundering version of “I Will Follow.”
The outro music played on the stadium PA has been changed (for the second straight show?) from the Pogues “A Pair Of Brown Eyes” to John Lennon’s “Stand By Me,” which was used as intro music on the original Joshua Tree tour.
