U2 returns to the stage after a full week off and plays the first of two shows in Chicago. The show begins just a few hours after a pair of terrorist attacks in London. Bono references it early in the show -- along with the recent terror attack in Manchester -- singing during "Sunday Bloody Sunday": "For Manchester, for London, for the streets of Chicago ... no more! No war!"
The set is similar to ones that U2 performed on the first week of the tour, but "Miss Sarajevo" continues to get moved around. Tonight, it's played (for the first time) as the third song of the encore.
Bono thanks the U2 crew and many friends after "One," and mentions that Island Records founder Chris Blackwell is at the show. Since Blackwell has a birthday coming up (he'll turn 80 on June 22), Bono leads the crowd in singing "Happy Birthday" for him, and then dedicates "I Will Follow" to him, too.
Other celebrities at the show tonight include Colin Farrell, Jon Bon Jovi and Mario Batali.
