U2 360 Tour News

U2 has arrived in Turin and already rehearsed two new, never-before-heard songs at Olympic Stadium. That's the word from this article on Italian site U2place.com, which got the news from fans hanging around outside the stadium. The article says that Bono's voice and Edge's guitar were "readily recognizable" inside the stadium.

UPDATE: U2place.com has now removed the mention of new songs being rehearsed from its article, saying the fan reports are confusing.

Fans outside the stadium also report that U2 is expected to move some of its rehearsals to the Palaisozaki, an indoor facility adjacent to Olympic Stadium. That'll give the band freedom to work on the show (presumably) out of fans' sight and sound. They did a similar thing last summer while rehearsing in Barcelona.

U2 has apparently not arrived in Turin yet, but when they do, the U2 360 tour stage will be ready and waiting for them. U2place.com has posted three photos from inside Olympic Stadium. Here's one:

It looks like everything related to the Claw itself is done, except the video screen is missing. And the stage where the band and gear goes isn't there yet, either.

Meanwhile, U2Italia.com says that the band may not arrive in Turin until Thursday, and rehearsals could start on Friday.

THE second week of December is firming as the window of U2's return to Brisbane, provided Bono bounces, ah... back from surgery.

According to this report on U2place.com, fans around Olympic Stadium in Turin have been told by security that U2 will arrive on Monday night. Security also said the stage should be completed on Monday, and rehearsals are expected to begin on Tuesday.

With the U2 360 Tour set to resume in a little more than two weeks, activity should be picking up at the Olympic Stadium inTurin, Italy. The city even offers a nearby webcam for those of us who want to keep an eye on The Claw as it's being built.

Italian fan site U2place.com reports that U2 has booked the stadium for stage arrival/construction as of today (July 21), and they say the band could show up as early as Monday, July 26th, to start tour rehearsals.

We nearly choked on our cornflakes when we heard this news early this morning. U2 will officially announce dates for their Aussie tour in August!

In late May, the biggest rock tour in history hit a speed bump: Bono underwent emergency back surgery in Munich for a compressed sciatic nerve that forced U2 to postpone the summer leg of their mammoth 360° Tour and cancel their headlining spot at Glastonbury. After nearly two months, the band has broken its silence in a homemade video shot by drummer Larry Mullen Jr., in which all four bandmembers give fans the good news: Bono is healthy, the band is in the studio, and U2 will be back in American stadiums in the summer of 2011.

North American tour dates for 2010 have been rescheduled for the spring / summer of 2011.

IRISH supergroup U2 have pencilled in Sydney concert dates at ANZ Stadium for December, setting up another bumper summer of rock.

Australia's Triple M Radio is reporting that U2 will bring the 360 Tour down under this December. Says the report:

Sources have revealed that U2 will bring their 360° tour to Australia in December.

The Music Network said the band will officially confirm the news we've all been waiting for when they announce new dates of their cancelled US tour.

We're still hoping for some news about when those postponed (not cancelled) dates will be re-announced, but our contacts are not saying anything at the moment. Consider the above a rumor until there's some official confirmation.
