Only my second U2 show (Zooropa 93 was 1st) and I didn't set my expectations too high, but I needn't have worried, after an ok-ish start, when they started The Elecric Co. I got goosbumps and knew everything would be cool : )
Supports: Doves (no "The" please...) - were excellent (I'm a fan anyway), every song was a single except Sky Starts Falling and that's coming out in August. A top band who will one day get the recongition they deserve.
Athlete - couple of good songs, good musicians, but not much in the way of charisma / personality / soul (any one of three would do!).
U2 - the main event, fulfilling all three categories above! What a setlist, what a crowd, everything just seemed to click. Lights were brilliant too, but they could have played the Griffin in Brenford (my local) and it would have been just as good! Sound wasn't great on Zoo Station or The Fly (from block 15) but apart from that no complaints! Brilliant.
