This show was 180 degrees from the night before! The sound was clear this time, and as a result, the place was rockin'. Almost immediately, you could tell Bono was getting into it.....he was frustrated, I think, at Saturday's show, but not tonight! He kept saying "wow" as the excitement built, and his posture and vocals started showing it! During "Mysterious Ways", things really sparked when Iris was pulled up onto the main stage to dance with Bono. Interesting note: Sat, the girl was named Ali (Bono's wife's name), and tonight the girl was named Iris (Bono's mother's name) Anyway, Iris danced like she was part of the show, and the level was ratcheted up another notch. You could just see the band and audience bouncing off one another, and you could tell by Bono's smile that he was thinking "That's more like it!" He was grinning from ear to ear.....and our reward was the first ever live performance of "Original of the Species". I was lucky enough to be in the audience during the SJ show when "Kite" was played live for the first time, and now this! Bono commented that he was glad that the band were coming back to the Bay Area in November, and I am, too!
