Ok...Up front - I'm a former (is that the only kind?) Deadhead. Now that that's out of the way..I'll just say that by and large, the fans in the GA section were great...except for the knuckleheads who thought that if they spent 6zillion dollars, got drunk and jumped on people, that they could get closer to Bono (is there some sort of closet thing going on there?) After spending hours with some really great people/new friends (even got a backrub from the kind lady from Ocean Park behind us), I had to get in between two dorks who wanted to fight while Bono talked about peace in the Middle East. Kind of a buzz kill....But (have no fear, I won't dwell in the negative for long)...I'm chalking it uup to the wicked high energy rhythm/chunky guitar that the band was cranking out. I'm guessing knuckleheads don't get the message and "choir" doesn't need to hear it. Anyway, the show rocked. Bono looked older, but when he lent back (no pun intended) and hit the climax in Sometime You Cant Make It...5 ft. away it was pretty moving...Edge is, well...let's just say his pleasantly predicatably great, unique self (sorry Jerry - consistency and polish counts) and Larry and Adam laid down a groove that had people up front jumping...soo much so that preoccupation with maintaining the ability to breathe even crossed my mind...and I make a habit of spending lots of time under water and going to lots of shows. Rockin' good time... Wish we could go to Ireland in June. PS: Iris was definitely shaking it!
