Hey Ya'll,
So you want to hear the story of U2's second gig in Cologne?
First of all, the Koeln Arena is an amazing venue!
Anyway, we got at the venue around 02:00, and were nr's 203, 204 and 205. (So Martijn, you got there a bit early ;-). But from what I've heard the security had some probloms with how the numbering was done the night before, and said the nr's had no use today! Just get in line, and run your as off is wat had to be done to get into the heart this day!
Anyway, I made it into the heart aswel (the day before I had great GREAT seats, first row on the left side of the stage, and being inside the heart is about as cool of an experience!
I won't review all songs and stuff. I will only mention some nice details.....
- Edge his guitar was out of tune AND had to rearrange his effects. Dallas! Do your job! ;-)
- They didn't know what song they'de play for Wim Wenders (Stay or Ground). They choose Ground.
- Bono pulled his godson onstage. Bono is a god father!
- Bono had a PLeASE sign around his neck during one song.
- They didn't use ALL curtains anymore for New York, only the ones at the back of the stage!
- It isn't crowdy at all in the heart. Enought room for 500 ppl if you ask me!
- Security didn't search anyone for cameras, and didn't seem to mind them at all (maybe only digital and prof cameras?).
- The merchandising is VERY expensive!
Well....that should be anough?
Bye now!
