as this was my fourth show U2 show ever (1 ZOOTV, 2 POPMART), i thought i was prepared with how amazing the concert would be.
boy, was i wrong--i was totally not prepared!! this was, by far, the most amazing experience.
after waiting in line for 5 hours outside the venue (did anyone else get windburn?!), my friend and i got rewarded by being in the heart. we were front row over to the left side, in the crook between the stage and the ramp on edge's side. we had a clear view of everyone, and were real close when they walked by on the ramp, plus, we had a lot of room to move around as well. i just couldn't believe how close we were!
the setlist was awesome, with too many highlights to mention, cos in their own way, each song was a highlight. did anyone else get choked up when bono sang 'in my life' right before 'stuck'? what an amazing segue.
we managed to make eye contact with all 4 of the guys--even larry (my fave)!! i was the dork with the "Larry, can I have your sticks?!" sign. when he walked by on the ramp, he paused for a moment to read it, smiled and walked on. i didn't get them, but oh well, he's still the coolest. i did get to touch his drum--the one they used for the "acoustic" set at the tip of the heart. when they were bringing it back, they walked right past me and i touched it!
all in all--an excellent show. i'm not sure how i could ever top that experience, but then again, i thought that after the last POPMART show i saw.
U2 proves once again, they are the best.
