After spending nearly half my life watching "Rattle and Hum" every night and wishing that some day I could see the whites of Bono's eyes in person, this show in Detroit still feels like a dream. We waited in the GA line from the wee hours of the morning, and went about thirty hours with no sleep at all. I was worried I would collapse from exhustion/excitment sometime during the show. But as soon as the band hit the stage, my body forgot how tired it was. Every note was inside of me- like I was possessed with music. I've heard so many comments about how little energy this Detroit crowd had, but I had no idea of it at the concert. Everyone around me- in front of the stage in the heart- danced like the world was ending. And if it had, I don't think we would have cared. It was an amazing night- truly my dream come true. I only wish that I could have touched Bono, so that I could know I really wasn't dreaming that he was so unbelievably close. The Elevation Tour is really a spiritual event. When it comes your way, bring as many people as you can. There's no way they're not leaving a true U2 fan. Its been almost a month since this show, and still, I'm not coming down.
