Can it be true, that there are no fan reviews for what is considered in many circles to be one of the five best u2 shows ever performed? Ok then, let's correct that right now.

For my brother and I, quite a change from seeing them at the Aragon Ballroom only two short years earlier. While that was a very intense and wonderful concert, this one was way,way over the top. U2 was all over the news at the time, on the cover of Time and Newsweek, was considered the "Hottest Ticket in Rock" and was well on their way to becoming the "Only Band That Matters", according to Rolling Stone magazine. And were they ever on the top of their game that night at the Rosemont Horizon!

Nothing that I had ever seen before in all my years of attending concerts prepared me for that concert. While it was pretty sad to hear the crowd openly booing the backup act, Lone Justice, particularly since they were actually quite good, it all became sort of meaningless once u2 hit the stage.

From the opening of "Streets" and its' wonderful red and white lighting, to the conclusion of "40", it was indeed a magical night. Even though we were stuck in the nosebleed seats, it simply did not matter as the show was that intense. One and all felt as if they were on stage. The crowd made the entire event insane as the cheering and shouting made it nearly impossible to hear what was being said by Bono in-between songs. (It wasn't until I got an unbelievably great bootleg of the show that I was actually able to hear what he had been saiding.) The band was phenomenally tight and crowd was along for the ride. And what a ride it was too!

In so many ways, there simply are not words to do justice to that night. To put it another way, you really had to be there to fully comprehend the magic that flowed from band to audience and back again. Sorry, but it's true. Well and truly a once in a lifetime experience!
