Been to quite a number of shows (about 15 or so) and am very long time fan (since 1986). First time with Floor tickets and now I wonder why I haven't done that for every show possible!! AMAZING perspective and sound! We were about 10 people back from the catwalk just left of center after arriving at about 4:30 in the afternoon. WELL WORTH IT!
The one thing I could NOT grasp from the floor is if the crowd was very loud and into it or not. From the floor, the band sounded amazing and LOUD so it was hard to tell if there was cheering/singing from the seats. Bono motioned to get the crowd on their feet a couple times so I wondered if the heat and humidity was hampering the crowd?
The set list was great, really liked the retro additions (especially because no line fell a little flat for me). I would have prefered Magnificant to Moment of Surrender from that album, but it's all GOOD and performed GREAT! I wonder if you are a recent or radio an (Vertigo for instance) if you were disappointed because of all of the older or more obscure material? (Not obscure to us die-hards-for example Miss Sarajevo from Passengers). Could you appreciate the impromptu rendition of One Tree Hill? Speaking of Vertigo, I also don't like the new timing Bono uses to sing the lyrics live on the 360 tour. But, I do like the Boots remix. ALSO, during Zooropa he LCD screen expanded all the way to the floor. I did not like all 4 band members covered by it (for a light display/show) during the song. After one song, Bono seemed more out out of breath than "usual", as is justified after having giving it his all. Bono also mentioned that Larry went to a White Sox game and some of the crowd boo'd (oh you know who you are, you Cubs fans!!) and Bono seemed confused--"what, are there a lot of Kansas City fans here"? signaling he was completely unaware of the rilvary of the 2 teams in Chicago. Quite Funny! There were a few raindrops that fell during With or Without You (I think it was then??) but they passed quickly. They opened the stage umbrellas which looked really cool. Over all, an A+ show and I loved it, would do it again and hope to do it again! Will post pictures, too.
