Halfway through 2015, U2 rank No. 5 in North American concert tour grosses, according to recently released figures. Pollstar reports that U2 earned $40.3 million from Jan. 1 through June 30. At No. 1 are the Rolling Stones ($80.7 million), followed by Garth Brooks ($79.9 million), Fleetwood Mac ($65.9 million) and Kenny Chesney ($55.8 million).
To put the numbers in context, Pollstar also lists other figures including the average price per ticket, total number of tickets sold and total number of shows. In the Top 5, for example, Mr. Brooks played 74 shows (average ticket price $66), U2 played 21 (average ticket price $108), and the Stones played 10 (average ticket price $178).
