The Adelaide show was absolutely the most fantastic concert I have ever seen. We'd waited since 6am, and I'd rushed through my year 12 drama exam in order to get back on the line in time, but it was worth it to have one of the best spots in the house - in the ellipse first row on edges side. The crowd interaction was great, the fans were nice, good people, and there was no crushing as I thought there could be. But the music...U2 are such a great live band. Sure, if you'd watched the DVDs you could pretty much mouth the words of what Bono was saying, and sure, for most of the concert Bono thought he was in Sydney, but it didn't really matter. Sunday Bloody Sunday was so powerful, and Miss Sarajevo made me cry pretty much. Adam, Edge and Bono all walked down our side of the stage, and we were the kids with the homemade sheets with the faces of the U2 guys on them. The sheets allowed us interaction with the band amazingly - with which Adam saw my Edge sheet and laughed and shook his head to say "no way, I'm better" jokingly and then came up to me and shook my hand along with my other friends. Then after much shouting to Edge to get his attention he finally turned to us and peered at the sheets to try and make out what they had on them, noted his own face staring at him and smiled and winked at me. Amazing. All in all, a fantastic concert, where Bono's voice was on top form, Larry's drumming looking just as complicated and tight as usual, Edge's guitar playing brilliant, and Adam having a real laugh.
