Late review on an excellent show.
Just the music.
For those who appreciate the music and have an attention span greater than that of a seven year old boy, this concert was for you. No record breaking video screens, space lemons, calls to the white house or video uplinks between encores. Just the music. Stripped down and there for everyone to focus on. I'll be the first to say that Zoo TV was an awesome ride and PopMart pure entertainment, but I was tired of walking away from a concert and feeling like I was watching a 2 hour video really loud! A breath of fresh air it was to see the boys walk out, house lights up,casually introduce themselves and rip into Elevation. The realism of it all was more powerful than the George Bush intro in '92 or the Popmuzik video extravaganza in '97. It was very personal and satisfying. My only complaint was the Charlton Heston video blurb. I know the few shows in Canada don't warrant a complete change, but the whole guns montage did nothing for me, yes America has a gun problem, not our problem, who cares. It detracted from the song and just did not sit right. Oh well, all in all super music, super show!
