Hey everyone - I actually went to the show at Aloha Stadium more for Pearl Jam reasons than for U2 reasons (NOTHING against U2 - just saying...), and of course for a wonderful trip to Hawaii with my girlfriend.
Just wanted to say we thought U2 was really great - first time seeing them. I own every U2 album, but I think I always respected them (musically and generally) more than really got into their music. It was a great experience being there and enjoying such an intense live show (City of Blinding Lights was a great opening by the way).
I was also VERY impressed with the crowd. I could see down on the GA pit well and everyone was very into the show. Also, and this was a bit unnerving at first, but the stands in the upper levels were actually shaking (during Pearl Jam a bit too). I definitely had visions of us collapsing onto the bottom levels...
The traffic killed us and we actually missed some of the PJ opening, but seeing U2 and Pearl Jam together did it for us. And Billie Joe was quite a nice surprise.
Sorry both bands' tours are over, but now we have new stuff to look forward to soon hopefully!
Anyway, just wanted to pass that review along from a PJ fan to all of you U2 fans.
