The Church of Bono is open to all! Every time U2 plays Phoenix, it's like a religious revival. I've seen them play every time they came to AZ since 1987, and they never fail to amaze me.
The highlights of the show (for me) were Bono grabbing the hand of the girl who was so far away (during New Year's Day), and when Bono ran around the heart during Where the Streets Have No Name. I couldn't believe how fast he ran and still the singing was perfect!!
Some interesting comments from Bono:
(after someone threw the Irish flag to him) "For the first time I can catch this flag and not feel ashamed."
"How is everyone tonight?" CHEER "I know someday you'll all say 'Terrible, now fuck off!'"
I wish they would play more than one show here. I'm spoiled, they usually play a few. But maybe on the 2nd leg in 2002 (if there is one) they will return??
I can't stop singing U2 songs since the show, and it's been a week!!
Come back, Bono.....
