Still dreaming beneath the desert sky...
I swear, I think the band loves our city as much as we love them.
They played, "In Gods Country" for the first time, as Bono put it, "in like 15 years." (It was done acoustically too).
A lucky fan (Emily???) from Salt Lake City was pulled up to play guitar on, "I Shall Be Released." Her sign said something like, "You said to bring lyrics, & I did." Bono told the audience that "it pays to advertise."
It was great to see some of our few, (unlike LA or NY) local celebrities like David Spade, Alice Cooper & local musicians from valley groups like the Peacemakers, Haggis and Gloritone. We couldn't be more proud of them... & of our 6'10'' flame thrower, Randy Johnson who surprised everyone when he appeared with the World Series trophy during, Walk On."
Unfortunately VH-1 premiered their "Elevation-Live" from Boston tonight so not a lot of us were able to see it... I know a fellow waterin' hole buddy from azpeacemakers.com taped this... anyone???
Thanks TW & U2 for making this tour the experience of a lifetime!
