I'm in my mid 30's and have been a U2 fan for as long as I can remember. I have wanted to see the band in concert for many years but the opportunity has just never really been there for me. Last night in Dallas that all changed. By a lucky series of events I found myself in the front row behind the stage/ellipse. What a show! I thought the setlist was well crafted. Something from nearly every era of the band (I was hoping for a little 'Stay' but that wasn't to be) and a lot from Atomic Bomb. I agree that the Dismantle material doesn't have nearly the juice when it's not live. The special effects were magnificent and Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry seemed to really give their all. No small feat I'm sure considering the gruelling schedule they've been keeping. I've also heard several negative references to the political/editorial commentary in the show. Though I skew somewhat moderate/conservative, I didn't feel what was said was sermonizing or preaching. It came across very genuine and, at least to me, was very thought provoking. All in all, it was a very memorable night for me - a lifelong dream fulfilled. Thanks guys for a truly enjoyable evening.
