Unos, Dos, Tres, Catorce !
A few days ago these words were the beginning of an amazing concert in the Amsterdam Arena on Saturday the 16th 2005. Bono, The Edge, Adam and Larry appeared on stage and started with Vertigo; I can't remember ever jumping and singing so hard in my entire life ...
The songs they played after Vertigo (Pride, Original of the Species, All Because of You, Electric Co) were all great songs, a great choice.
And, like everyone, I was also very suprised to suddenly hear Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses and I was very pleased that they picked out this song. Also hearing Miss Sarajevo was unbelievable; Bono did a great job singing both his and Pavarotti's part.
Other great things about this concert were the big guy, who lifted up Bono while he was singing Beautiful Day, Bono waving goodbye to a Mickey Mouse balloon, which slowly went up into the sky and The Edge, who changed the New Years Day guitarsolo and later told Bono it was an accident.
And, like at the Elevation Tour, Bono and The Edge walked around allot. It was great to see how Adam Clayton also did, for I have never seen him doing this at other concerts, where most of the time he's just standing next to Larry Mullen.
And while we are on the subject, Larry Mullen's drumsolo at the end of the concert (while Bono, Edge and Adam already left the stage and the audience was still singing "40") was really amazing ! I still get goosebumps thinking about it ...
To make a long story short, this was without a doubt the best U2 concert I have ever seen in my life and U2 is without a doubt the best rockband in the entire world.
Hope to see them again in 4 years !!
