This was my first U2 concert (of 9 now and counting). I had just 'discovered' U2 and had to come up with some sort of big cover story about seeing a movie in the suburbs... Covertly, I made it to the Ballroom and the experience was indellible. They converted me into a fan for life; the music was incredible, but it went beyond that. These guys were passionate. They were not in it for the moment... And as anyone who was lucky enough to see them in the early days knows, seeing them end the concert with '40' and standing there singing with the rest of the audience, for minutes and minutes after the band leaves and the lights go up, is an experience I wouldn't trade.
