It was a HUGE night for Jake and Alli. Jake got to use Bono's mic to thank Dallas for all his work keeping The Edge perfect and got to lead 17,000 people in singing Happy Birthday to Dallas. Alli got to dance with Bono during Angel of Harlem.
True fans DO get rewarded! Oh, and Bono took Jake's cheesy (sorry, hon!) cowboy hat after Walk On and walked away with it on his head. If ANYONE has any pictures of either Jake with the mic and or handing his hat to Bono, or Alli dancing with Bono, please let me know. Photos would be great Christmas presents to give to my friends!
Highlights were Bad, Mysterious Ways, Stand By Me and meeting some great people in line. I should have chosen front row instead of the tip, but oh, well, it gave me a chance to see the light show and the action at the tip.
Something no one has mentioned.....during Bono's first trip to the tip, he actually tripped. I think it was during End of the World. He stumbled RIGHT in front of me. There were lots of professional camera men in the space between the tip and the stage and they flocked to the spot where he fell and started taking pictures. Bono layed there for a second and then played it off as as more of the bull fight with Edge. He kicked at the guitar and reached up to grab the strings, etc. But believe me...he was walking backwards and he DID fall. Scary. Is someone keeping track of the number of times "I wasn't jumping, for me it was a fall."?
