My very first U2 concert and it truly did not disappoint! For me U2's extremely emotional versions of Sunday Bloody Sunday, Pride, and I still haven't Found were phenominal. Edge's guitarplay was untouchable. He creates such simple songs yet puts so much emotion and well-timed effects into them that simply grip your heart. My brother and I were seated in the second row of the upper level but we had a great straight on view of the stage and the boys. I have to admit that No Doubt was the laugher of the night. They absolutely paled in comparison to the emotion of U2's performance. Hint to Gwen: try using deeper words and meanings in your songs like our friend Bono, and maybe you'll get a better response from the crowd. Without a doubt, just the anticipation that we all could feel in the house just before U2 appeared was unforgettable! And when they appeared and promptly took the stage from the lasting affects of No Doubt we were in awe! Of the few venues that they could have chosen for this monumental 3rd leg of the tour they chose Sactown as one of them! What an incredible feeling that brought to me! As the night went on, through the amazing and 'bright as day' light show displayed in the crowd moving Beutiful Day, and the great bull fight in Until the End of the World, I began to have a feeling that maybe they wouldn't play their ultimate classic "Streets". When the usual prelude "Bad" was followed by Wild Horses I began to give up hope. But Bono and the Edge did not disappoint. Once Edge's first melodic notes began along with the organs in the background I knew that the concert had reached its highpoint. Throughout the whole song I believed that this must be the best part of the concert. The harmonies of Bono and Edge were amazingly melodic! But I later realized that I was wrong. Even with the amazing emotion and melody displayed by Streets I was even more strongly moved by the brilliant and emotional performance of One. It's timing was perfect due to the events of 9/11, and even though Bono tripped up on the last verse, it was still the best of many highlights from the evening. Lastly, I was glad to hear my name mentioned in Peace on Earth, I just hope its not a bad omen though. Also, Brendan, Karlene, Jamie, Bridget, Brian, Jeff, and Sean I hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did! Anyway, God be with U2 and their fans and I'll anxiously await U2's next return to Arco.
