Holy crap, what a great show! I'd been complaining before my flight about our boys playing the same things every night, etc. I found that there's a reason why they do it, cos it works, and it works well. It was such an awesome show. The line was good, not a huge crush or anything. We got in the heart and managed to get a spot on the railing on Adam's side. I remember thinking it was a crappy spot until Bono stood right in front of Rashas and me during All I Want is You. He stood there for the entire song, too! It was amazing.
We'd been rooting for Scott all day, Rashas even said to him, "See you onstage." I can't even begin to tell you how happy we were to see him getting onstage. He looked so cool and collected and went right into Homecoming. He gave Bono this look like, "Listen to this..." He played flawlessly, and looked right at home on the mainstage with Edge. Bono remained at the tip and said, "Give me a minute, it's been awhile since I sang this" or something along those lines. He improvised a bit, but remembered the chorus. Edge came in with his guitar and it was just a gorgeous version. Scott strutted back down the ramp after hugging Edge and then got a hug from Bono.
Hearing Slow Dancing was a highlight for me. I've always loved that song and Bono was fantastic on it.
One thing that disapointed me was Bono smashing his guitar, a really pretty red one. It was toward the beginning of the show. I don't remember what song it was, but apparently it wasn't working and he just smashed it, then handed it to his tech. I have no respect for that. Yeah, he was frustrated, but that's no excuse to treat a musical instrument that way. I guess if you have money coming out of your behind you can afford to do that, though.
Anyway, AWESOME show. Scott was great. And I don't think Rashas and I will EVER forget Bono standing in front of us for all of All I Want is You! :)
