April 1987...my first U2 show. I had bought the Joshua Tree just a few days earlier, and already I knew all the songs just as well as I knew the old ones. When they hit the stage, it was plain to see that something was wrong. Bono was hoarse, his voice was cracking, he would lie down on the stage for long periods of time and sing. We all sang with our hearts bursting full of love and support for our heroes!! Bono was very thankful and kept thanking us all night. He had this look on his face that said how touched he was. It was a magical moment. I will never forget this show. I will never forget the feeling that this was going to be a moment that went down in history. And it was.
