well, I am back ....
I posted a few pix from the opener cause I was blessed enough to be among those close enough at the Tour opener to snap a few
....alas- I was in general population last night ....and it was so much better as far as production goes....
From out n above a little, got to see the incredible custom stage they set up for the tour....it has so many cutting edge thingys built into it - the automation on the whole set is mindblowing, and that includes the video curtain ...now if I could just buy one for my living room ...
all I can say is, I made it my mission to attend a few shows- not just one ...and that is based on wanting to hear their sets vary from night 2 night ..
and the ultimate intro I had kept envisioning for months ( since HTDAAB dropped..) .CAME TO BE
and behold!!!!!
....the backtracks play, the crown cheering intensifies and all of a sudden Lord Bono and Larry appear in the center of the "Ellipse" appear and the fist notes we hear are "Layyyyyyyy down...Layyyyyyyyyyyyyy it dowwwwwwwwwwn....
Man that was the "sh*t - hands down ".....
everything else from there was TOP NOTHCH, as the merge from Love or Peace Or Else fades goes right into Sunday Bloody Sunday and we see that set lists have been shifted ... Anaheim was willing and ready for the journey.
would of liked a few more intimate acoustic interpretations of stuff, have yet to hear I will Follow or Out Of Control ...but I know they are comin...
got one more set of tix left - Wed is closing night in LA- I'll let you know then, the nuances that shift from night to night , yet the root of it all is "too much for words to describe"....
bathe in it while you can - they are out there for us....
