As the guy in the car next to mine said to me in the parking lot as we were leaving the Pond in Anaheim: "Life-Changing."
This was the best show I've ever attended, and I've seen them 7 times starting with Joshua Tree at JFK in Philly, 1987. I felt like this show was somehow cut from my dreams and presented to me by the only band deserving of the title of "best band in the world." It was a testament to the power of rock and roll. In the past couple of years, U2 has discovered what it is that makes them special and they unleashed that with everything they had tonight. From the opening chords to the departing thank yous, the crowd sustained a defeaning roar that not only never let up, but it actually got louder at times. Bono's voice was incredible, nailing the chorus of KITE and the "wide awake" of BAD -- maybe its the best he's ever sounded live?
Words cannot do justice to what I just experienced. It was like JFK in 1987 all over again. Everything I ever loved about the band was on display tonight better than I could have dreamed of it. The stage was nothing short of brilliant, the band sounded better than ever, the crowd sang along to every song...for me, tonight was truly truly special. The Goal is ELEVATION!!!
