Unbelievable.
Funny how the same word can be used to describe the grand extravaganza that was the Popmart tour and the intimate shows the last two nights at the Pond.
Lasting images from the last two nights:
* Bono singing to the Irish flag during "Sunday."
* A stripped-down acoustic "Angel of Harlem" with Edge and Bono alone on the catwalk.
* Sitting next to a U2 concert newbie and watching her reaction to the "Streets" intro. (Remember YOUR first time?)
* Seeing Bono and Edge signing autographs outside the Pond before Monday's show. Amazing to see them interact with the fans like that.
And here's the biggie:
* Watching Salman Rushdie dancing -- I mean, absolutely GETTING DOWN during "Elevation."
Unbelievable.
