The BBC rooftop gig was a great surprise. I was down there from early afternoon and managed to sneak into the sky bar of the hotel opposite allowing me to get some nice shots of the set-up with Joe in them.
The band were due on-stage at 18:15 but it was about 18:45 by the time they began (I think they were waiting foe it to get dark). There was a good atmosphere in the crown which got even better when regent Street was blocked off and the barriers were removed. It was nothing like a U2 gig and I was very away of just how far away the band were, dots on the horizon!
The sound was a bit muffled and it was hard to make out Bono's talking in between songs but all in all it was great, it was free and a taster of what is to come
