This was my first U2 show, and I had terrible seats, but it didn't matter. I will never forget the feeling of being there in the old Boston Garden, up above the stage on Adam's side, watching as the band entered in front of the red screen and the opening aura of "Streets" filled the hall.

Highlights: Bono told us they had been given the key to the city by the mayor, and made some kind of joke about moving to Boston. In BTBS, he talked about walking through town and seeing homeless people sleeping on the streets, which you certainly did at that time.

After Bono introduced it as "a Gospel song with a restless spirit," something went wrong during ISHFWILF -- Pimm Jal De la Parra's book says Edge hit wrong notes; at the time I had the impression there was something wrong with his amplification or the guitar itself. But at any rate, the band had to stop, and we had an a cappella singalong with the entire crowd that led to the song being extended several verses. It was thrilling.

Another great moment was Bono stopping dead in the middle of Sunday Bloody Sunday to ask us "No more WHAT?" until we shouted back "war!" and he picked the rhythm back up again.

And of course, walking out of the Garden onto Causeway street with everyone still singing "40" was a moment that will be with me my entire life. I'm still grateful for this night, 15 years later.
