Ok this is going to be fuzzy because it was so long ago - but this was my first concert ever, and i managed to score 6th row tickets by getting through on ticketmaster at just the right time. But i do distinctly remember showing my tickets to about 15 different people and i kept getting closer and closer to the stage...btw, i still have the stub, and it was $16.50!
This was the end of a five-night stand at the meadowlands, and a bunch of friends had gone to previous shows and told me the band would come out after Stand by Me was played over the house speakers. So once that started, we all got fired up. Halfway through the song, the house lights went down and the band rushed on stage and played the rest of the song.
Rest of the show was a blur - i was 14 at the time - but i do remember With or without you - bono was channeling the look/mannerisms of the video - he changed into a black vest, hair slicked back, etc. Looking back at the setlist, i wish the band would take a few chances and revisit some of these songs now.
