This was the second time I saw U2. The first time was the Zoo TV tour at Saratoga Springs Raceway in New York. I thought that was the best concert I'd ever seen. (It was general admission...come on, what could possibly beat that?) But the PopMart Tour was better. It demonstrated that not only can this band change their "image", musicaly and in physical appearance, but they are successful in doing so. In addition the band has stayed together over the years. Simply put: they are the greatest Musical Team ever.
The entire concert was an experience that is hard to describe. From watching the stage slowly being built while walking to work, to spontaneously deciding to spend that much money, to sitting at the far end of Camp Randall and absorbing the visual show as well as the audio concert. Overwhelming, yes: Loud, yes: Energetic, yes: I would not want my last Camp Randall experience to have been anything else than seeing my all-time favorite band live and hearing them play Unchained Melody as the final encore.
