This particular U2 show was the first concert that I ever attended. I was 14. I still have the ticket stub which shows the price as $12.50!!! As I recall the audience was polite to Lone Justice, but did not seem particularly enthused about them either.
As the other reviewer stated, Bono at one point asked the entire security staff to leave and invited everyone from the sides to come down onto the floor. I can't quite comment on what exactly was going on because I had no idea (it was my first concert - I was just fixated on the band). I do recall something on the local news the next day about either the band or Bono being fined for violating some sort of regulations (fire, safety, etc) for inviting the entire crowd down onto the floor (in the wake of several people being trampled to death at a Who concert in the U.S. in the late 70's, by this time, arena shows were completely reserved seating, in the stands and on the floor, as opposed to general admission).
Its been over 20 years, but I still remember that show (and still have the aforementioned ticket stub and the t-shirt I bought - which I haven't been able to fit into for forever) and the energy in the place that I saw that night, in some ways, ruined almost all future concerts for me in that I have rarely seen a band reach everyone from the front row to the nosebleeds in the way that Bono and the guys did...and I've been to hundreds of shows (from clubs to stadiums) since then.
As a technical note, the correct spelling of the venue should be the Capital Center (a shopping mall now stands where the building used to be).
