I'm 41 yrs. old & been waiting to see U2 live for over 20 yrs. It was worth the wait & the cost of the excellent seats we had! I was afraid that U2 would be past their prime, a shadow of their former glorious selves. Nothing could be further from the truth! Inconceivable that these 4 men can still deliver such passion & energy to their music & fans after 30 yrs.! At the 1983 US Festival Bono said,"Music CAN change the world, because it can change people." Amen! U2 has shaped me into a better, more inspired, compassionate human being all of my life, as they have many others!
It was great to see the 20-something's in the crowd dancing in their seats along with us "grown-ups"!For me, this concert was 1 of the most profoundly spiritual experiences of my life! The "spaceship" was an utter marvel, the sound was incredible & the music..TRANSCENDANT!!!
I can't believe any band will ever top U2!
The only downers of the show, TERRIBLE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT! After sitting forever on the interstate, we were mis-guided by an inept attendant past the handicapped parking lot we belonged in & spent 45 mins. circling the block. We were then allowed to park in the same place we were originally denied access to. We missed most of Muse because of it! Raleigh, shame on you! Also was disappointed by the "dry" venue! Just had a total knee replacement & a glass of wine would have dulled my pain..lol. Is this standard @ U2 shows? I'm taking my daughter to see them in Tampa on Fri. for her 23rd B-day & hope for better traffic control & a glass of wine! Also missed Pride, Bad & Desire in the set list but I know they can't play them all.
Overall: 1 of the most incredible experiences of my lifetime! I'd go to every show all over the world if I could!
Bono, Edge, Adam & Larry..I thank you for changing people & the world with your music!
