I was 17 when I saw this show. I bought a travel package (bus ride to Iowa City plus ticket to the show). The Edge's first notes to Where the Streets Have No Name raised a massive cheer, the lights came up bigtime when Bono hit the stage and it seemed like the entire crowd ignited. The intimacy they created that night at a packed arena in a smallish city in Iowa set the standard by which all other shows are compared. And nothing has touched it since. Help, People Get Ready, the energy of Bad and Bullet the Blue Sky, and prior to "40" Bono noted that Iowa City was a "U2 town". Bono was on that night and got around perfectly, just having a cast removed from his arm. Yes. Excellent show.
