This was the first Joshua Tree concert I went too and ended up seeing 11 shows from the tour. The show started with Bono and the Edge sneaking into the middle of the audience with the house lights on singing Sam Cooke's Stand by Me..really great stuff. This was also the only show that they played A Sort of Homecoming as I have not heard them play the song in my 24 other concerts. An overall great show but I saw them a little more polished as the tour gained momentum. These were also the early days of Bono's guitar playing so the Edge seemed a bit weary trying to follow Bono when he had the axe in his hand. Red Hill Mining was intense and I left the concert exhausted. The energy these guys create in small venues like the Worcester Centrum (hold approx 11 thousand) is so electric that the concert is more like a Baptist revival than a stage show.
