I was there and it seems some people must have been at a differenct gig to me.
U2 were AWE INSPIRING. They rocked, they showed huge emotion to match the huge setting. Bono (and I supose the band must agree) was right on the button with G8 & make poverty history. The world needs the big figures to make big statements or nothing ever gets done. More power to you Bono.
The sound was amazing - clear with loads and loads of power to it. The staging was great too. It took account of light nights and really came to life as darkness fell.
As for the crowd reaction I think we were only subdued after ONE when i think we were all texting like mad and reflecting on the message of make poverty history.
I don't know much about set lists and all that, I would have loved to see them play I Still Haven't Found and Wild Horses but really with a huge back catalogue and "only" 2 hours to fill some songs don't make it every night.
I am still on a high two days after
