wow. saw the band at birmingham on the Elevation tour in 2001 and thought they were great. this was another world. From the start of the Arcade Fire's wake up to the last chord of vertigo, this was perhaps the most important day of music Ive experienced. Whilst the experience of being right next to the right hand sub stage was awesome (being a drummer I was able to scrutinise the skills of both larry and bono!), my evening was made complete during the first encore with energetic renditions of zoo station and the fly, complete with Dr Strangelove saluting and the uniform.
