What a night in Indianapolis! There really are no words to describe the way the music and the energy got right inside you, but anyone who has seen U2 live will know what I mean. From the opening song, "Elevation", to the closing with "Walk On", it was two hours of energy, passion, and utter bliss. The lighting, colour, and flashing of images over the crowd was wonderful. Somehow it felt like they were singing just to you, yet to look around and 16 000 other fans singing their hearts out was amazing. Bono's birthday added an extra element to the show, especially when he sang happy birthday to himself, and the image came up during "Streets have no name". His "Hallelujahs" at the end of "Walk On" were so uplifting. They sang all the old favourites, and the new material is just as good, and a bit different.
I am an exchange student from Australia and their music has always travelled close by me on my trip. I am so glad I got the chance to see them here, because they have not announced an Australian tour date. U2 thanked the crowd for going to see them, but thank you U2 for your music, your entertainment, your passion, and your inspiration.
