Universal premiere of "Wild Honey" with Daniel Lanois on guitar. NUFF SAID. After reading reviews of the first Continental show and hearing about all the "acoustic" problems I have come to a conclusion. Either A: They brought in another engineer and worked to fix the problems or B: The people who wrote those reviews were on drugs. I have never heard the songs or the spoken words between the songs more clearly than I did tonight. Everything was working full throttle. The greatest band in the world finishing up the greatest tour in the world. What a night!!! There were many highlights, including the introductions of Kofie Anan, The Beastie Boys, Michael Stipe and a little guy Bono liked to call William Jefferson Clinton. They were all in attendance and Bono thanked Kofie and Billy for their contributions to Jubilee. During Sunday Bloody Sunday, Bono added a snippet of "Everybody Hurts." Amazing. They brought Daniel Lanois out and did "Wild Honey" and "Ground Beneath." The band was in such good spirits tonight as well they should be. Bono mentioned that it was the last night a few times and said he wasn't sure if they would be coming back in the fall, which brought a thunderous begging ovation. The crowd was REALLY REALLY loud tonight. I saw Philly#1 and MSG#1 and this crowd was the best. As always "Where the Streets" wants to make you die and float to heaven as did all the other greats such as Bad, Sunday, and Pride. I don't know what else to say. They are the greatest. They are the most passionate. They are the hardest working. They are the most uplifting. They are U2 and the have secured their position as the second greatest rock band in the history of planet earth. Beatles and then our four boys from Ireland. I say we can still hit the #1 spot. They love each other and we love them. That can get the job done. U2 forever. Thank you Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry. I love you.
