The highlights of the last show were the debut of Wild Honey acoustic and the Ground Beneath Her Feet with Daniel Lanois on guitar. That was a special treat. I thought the Bono’s discussion of Jubilee 2000 and the references to Bill Clinton and Kofi Annan’s involvement was the most moving of the tour. It illustrates the compassion of these men, Bono included.
My only disappointment was that I felt the crowd deserved a 3rd encore and I thought we might get one. My seats were on the back corner of the stage on Edge’s side. When the band came off the stage after Walk On Larry and Adam left for the dressing room but Bono and the Edge remained under the stage for a few minutes. I could see Bono under the stage pacing back and forth with a bunch of crew running in and out from underneath the stage. It appeared they were discussing the possibility of the encore.
Unfortunately we didn’t get it but it was still an outstanding show.
I look forward to seeing them in Slane and on their return to that States. I am also looking forward to the next album because I believe that the band is peaking at this time and has a lot more great music left in them.
My seats were not that great but I was able to get some interesting photos Bono with the Irish flag. Enjoy.
