ANYONE WHO'S SEEN U2 MULTIPLE TIMES, LIKE ME, SHOULD BE A LITTLE MORE OBJECTIVE ABOUT THE 5/17 SHOW LAST NIGHT IN JERSEY. I almost feel bad about criticizing the boys, but let's call a spade a spade. The show was choppy, with poor sound quality throughout, and they seemed to merely "go thru the motions", which is quite unlike them. Make no mistake, I love the band, but the song selection and playlist flow left me unimpressed. The new songs were actually the best tracks, while the classics seemed to be "just played to be played". Pride was too slow without emotion, The classic build-up in Streets was too quick and they ran thru it like they were late for a Pub Crawl in Hoboken. Vertigo twice ?-- once is more than enough for that radio-saturated ya-ya tune. Sorry, but I rank that show last in the 15 times I've seen them since 1987....I guess I've just come to expect greatness every time from the greatest concert band ever.
