Once again my expectations for an awesome U2 concert were not met. I've been to several over the years and to me they keep losing a little ground. Most of the songs for the set were done well. Even though many classics like "A Sort of Homecoming, I will Follow, Bad, Gloria, Party Girl or about twenty others would have kicked it more.
My real problem is with Bono. He seems to forget we are all educated, intelligent (ok, at least semi-intelligent) people that can make up our own minds about politics, social issues, life, etc. Let the songs tell the story. There came a part where Bono asks everyone to call the Whitehouse and gave out the number. Give us a break. World hunger is a good cause...Still I didn't see the concert and concession receipts going to the cause so don't lecture America, the same people that keep making you richer.
Lastly, the encore was the worst in U2 history. Zoo Station, The Fly, Mysterious Ways (ok, decent), Original of the Species, All Because of You, Yahweh, 40 (alright good) and then Vertigo again? no, Bad. . . no Gloria . . . no I will Follow. Grrrrrrrr ! Can’t they play Red Hill Mining Town and make real fans happy? The worst is I’ll probably go to another concert next time around all in the hope.
