Overall, this was a good U2 concert, with some
nice special effects, but the ending really peetered out badly during the second encore.
Bono brought on a local band, The Bank Robbers, to play alongside U2, but I didn't think that this was a good idea during the last group of songs.
The main set was excellent, especially songs from
October, notably Gloria, and the powerful trilogy,
Love and Peace, Sunday Bloody Sunday, and Bullet the Sky.
Yahweh was very disappointing, given that it is my favorite song on the new album. Yahweh should have been a powerful ending to the show, with 40;
the way that Walk On ended the Elevation shows in 2001.Instead the band stripped it down to a shortened acoustic version, which doesn't do it justice.
Don't get complacent, lads; see you again in the fall.
