What an amazing concert, and what amazingly horrid weekend. First off, my mother LOST my GA tickets!! So after flipping out on her, I called ticketmaster who told me to take my confirmation #, credit card, i.d., etc. and bring it to the CAA, and that they would give me a slip that would replace the tickets. I got to the venue at around 7:30pm on SATURDAY... yes, a solid 24 hours before the show would actually start. However there was a Devil's game at the time, and security basically ordered me and my friend to leave... so we came back around 12:45am and I was stamped with the # 56. Will Call wasn't open til noon, so the next day (after sleeping in the car in the freezing cold) I went to get my lost ticket slip, and the Will Call people were horrible! They told me that they wouldn't help me until 6pm, even after I explained to them that I was GA and possibly wouldn't be able to get my bracelet if I didn't get the slip by 5:30... they basically didn't care. So I call ticketmast, hysterical, and they say that the arena is full of bullshit, basically. So I go back in to Will Call at around 5pm, and they proceed to kick everyone out of the venue, claiming that the band is going to start their sound-check. Then we get the wonderful shock when they announce that they aren't going to honor the number system (even though every other venue does). Meanwhile, I still don't even have my tickets, and it's close to showtime... so my friend uses her cellphone and calls the arena. She explains our situation to the woman on the phone, and the woman (Joanne) says she wants to talk to one of the security guards to tell them to let me inside to get my tickets... and the guy refused to talk on the phone!!! At this point, I'm ready to burst into tears... So Joanne gets really pissed, and sends out someone to escort me inside (the guard looked really embarrassed and left at that point... I hope he gets fired!). It was so weird being the only person inside who wasn't working there, I felt so special! ...and by the way, I didn't hear any sound-check going on. Just really loud elevator music, so I think the guards were lying to us again. Anyways, so my superbly nice escort (I think he was the manager of the arena) put his arm around my shoulders, and told the Will Call people that they had better help me out. I got my slip (finally!), and got back in line where everyone was really nice to me despite the wretchedness of the line-situation. I ended up being one of the first people in, and I was inside the heart at the tip. An amazing place, and a wonderful gift after the supreme stress of the weekend! A million-trillion thank-yous to those who let me get my slip!!
