Where to begin...I guess with the fact that it was a truly amazing show. Despite the general admission chaos (discussed later) we managed to get in the heart, fairly close to the stage. We arrived around 5:30am on Sunday and were #88 and #89. The line was a great experience - we met some wonderful fellow fans and traded stories, all in the comfort of our continually deflating inflatable chairs. It was a nice day, people were singing, playing guitar, grilling out...great start to the whole experience. Then all hell broke loose. Seriously, though, the chaos that ensued with the GA line was a bit much, and unprecedented as far as I know anyway. We got VERY lucky, but I know there are many out there who waited in line all day and were not as fortunate. On a personal note, we want to thank two guys who were around us in the GA line (with the hope that they read this). Mike from Cinci and his friend (the tall one who took all the pictures for us in the show). It was wonderful to see the true spirit of U2, the generosity and kindness, in the midst of everyone scrambling to be first in line. They helped us short ones :) get in the arena without getting trampled. As for the show - there is no experience like GA in the heart. All I Want is You and Please were definite highlights, as was the Edge winking at us (we swear - as do the 300 people around us, it happened!). We were also happy to see that friends from the GA line made it in during the stampede. Kudos to Mark for acquiring a coveted Larry drumstick! Can't end this review without mentioning Stereophonics as well - we hadn't heard their music much before, but now they have two new dedicated fans. Great weekend, many ups and downs, but definitely a memorable experience.
